Excellence is not an act, but a habit

WE ARE WHAT WE REPEATEDLY DO

Prince George is skeptical about Australia. I am skeptical of him having a full head of hair for longer than 20 years.

I will forever reblog anything to do with the precious angel that is Prince George.

"Hang in there"

Words just uttered to me by a 23 year-old employee at our company in the bathroom. Wet hair, glassy eyes, general dazed expression — she probably thought someone I know DIED recently. Or I was hungover. Or like, I have a small child at home. Nope…just working around the clock getting ready for our Paris/London trip. ENJOY YOUR YOUTHFUL ENERGY, YA DAMN MILLENIAL. JUST WAIT.

New music find: Carousel

Last night, I attended the Cherub concert in downtown Raleigh with 250 of the city’s drunkest 19 year-olds.

Amidst the crop tops, fake ID passing in the line, and over-enthusiastic hugs (“oh-my-gahhhh I didn’t know you were comiiiiiiiing!!” running/jumping into one another’s arms; one then exhales cig smoke), I felt ancient. But, like..not in a bad way? Almost in a relieved way. And hey, I was still there so that gives me some cool points right? Right….right.

Anyway, the opener for Cherub was this great band called Carousel. Passion Pit-vibe with more keyboard. Check out their latest song here:

Getting prepared for our trip next week.

This has been a PSA.
I can’t handle the cuteness. Or the suspenders. I just can’t.

Sweater/Jacket Weather

With our trip to London and Paris just a few weeks away, I’m in full “what the hell do I pack” mode. The temps look like they will range anywhere from lower 50s to mid-60s, meaning layers are going to be the name of the game.

Rather than packing a bunch of different sweaters, which take up precious space, I’d like to get a spring jacket that can be worn comfortably under my rain coat and keep me looking (semi) stylish with all of the chic Londoners and Parisians (good luck with that one..)

As much as I’d like to get this Rebecca Taylor number or this Tibi bomber jacket…I can’t bring myself to spend that much cash. Here are a few I have my eye on—but since I am AWFUL at online shopping—please feel free to send me some of your picks!!

Moto from Nordstrom

Pink faux leather can go one of two ways- 1) absolutely fabulous; 2) Florida retirement home. Since Shopbop is selling this jacket, I have hope that this one is the former, not the latter.

Sweet lace bomber jacket from Zara

Another Zara number. This fabric looks luxe and I like the soft draping.

A little Lou & Gray number from Loft

How cute is this linen jacket from Forever 21

Help.

If you aren’t watching Broad City, you are making a terrible mistake. We’ve burned through Season 1 in about 2.3 days and I want more. Comedy Central (or TWC On Demand.)

Quick synopsis: Two 24 year-old besties in NYC. Guest stars include Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch and Amy Sedaris. Laughs abound. And lots of awkward moments.

Craigslist find of the week

Need a mirror? This beauty is just $100 bones and would add a nice Hollywood Regency touch to your favorite room.

Next friend of mine who gets engaged is getting this hanky IMMEDIATELY in her mailbox. Perfect. (great find Hans)
